It’s a busy time for higher education lawyers and compliance professionals. Institutions have been inundated with federal executive actions and subsequent legal challenges, in addition to federal funding cuts and increasingly demanding state legislative actions that sometimes conflict with federal directives. This often convolutes what to comply with and complicates the task of maintaining an institutional culture of compliance. Compliance professionals and campus counsel continue to play an integral part in forging ahead through a time of rapid change and protecting the institution from legal, financial, and reputational risk. 

Please join us for this year’s virtual compliance workshop that will provide legal and practice updates on a wide variety of issues crucial to compliance professionals and legal counsel. The workshop will have two separate and concurrent tracks: (1) Compliance Program Administration and (2) Legal and Regulatory Updates.   

Track 1 will include sessions on:

• Comprehensive compliance models;
• Policy, hotline, and case management; 
• Training and reporting lines; and
• Building a culture of ethics and compliance. 

Track 2 will focus on legal and regulatory updates, including sessions on:

• Immigration and international issues;

• Disability law compliance, and more. 

Who Should Attend? 

This program is at the intermediate to advanced level. Registrants will be presumed to have general knowledge of institutional compliance programs and of issues surrounding institutional compliance. The program is directed to college and university counsel and compliance officers with responsibility for institutional compliance programs and issues. Campus administrators such as risk managers and others with significant responsibility for college and university compliance will also benefit from the program.
