Open only to members who serve as the in-house chief legal officer for their institution.

Please join us for in-person General Counsel Roundtables! This is a unique opportunity to benefit from the knowledge, insights, and experiences of peers. Using an informal, roundtable format, leaders will guide discussions on a variety of topics with members who serve as the in-house chief legal officer for their institution. Eligible participants will have ample opportunity to exchange ideas, share challenges and successes, and ask questions. The roundtables will conclude with a reception for all participants and leaders. 

New and Recently Appointed In-House General Counsel Roundtable

Designed for members who have served as the in-house chief legal officer for their institution for three or fewer years.

POSSIBLE TOPICS INCLUDE: 

  • Key challenges and trends in higher education law
  • Continuing evolution of the role of the general counsel 
  • Effective relationships with various campus constituencies 
  • Office of general counsel management 

Experienced In-House General Counsel Roundtable

Designed for members who have served as the in-house chief legal officer for their institution for more than three years.

POSSIBLE TOPICS INCLUDE: 

  • Current campus legal issues and trends 
  • New challenges stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic, such as remote work and employee retention 
  • Managing campus relationships including board and president 
  • The year in review: lessons learned and shared
